Sunshine, Friends, and a Beautiful Lake

This past Saturday my brother picked up his kids and our two oldest and was gone by about 11:30 am. By 12:15 we were over at the river channel dropping off Amanda for her friend, Kate's, birthday party. The party was floating down the canal and then meeting at the beach. Kate's mom, Louise, floated down with them and her husband, Steve, and Randal and I went to the beach to get set up for a wiener roast for later. We had a great time....but it was a little chilly...I think it was only about 70-75 F. We've gotten used to about 90-100F!!! But as much as I don't want it to be... I think it's a signal that summer is nearing it's end...Oh well... I guess that just means that we'll have fun winter activities, such as skiing and playing in the snow to look forward to....BRRR... okay okay... I'm tryin'!!
(Steve and Louise are some new friends that we've recently met and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know!) The Mom's dropping off the girls. Paula, Leona, Heather (me) and Louise.

Is that a look of apprehension on Louise's face....?

♫ Happy Birthday ♫ Kate!

Amelia and Janelle....not sure what they were running from....

NOW everyone can see how beautiful Canada is too!! :) Gotta love BC. My parents and siblings and rest of family are all living in BC too. We dont have beaches like that here in Alberta though as you know :)

Yes Candy... Canada is beautiful!! We have multiple beaches here...could go to a different one every day of the week and still have some left over!

Great pictures, Heather. I was dreading scrolling down and seeing a beached whale, but alas, it didn't happen. There's still some summer left!

God bless,
Steve (and Louise)

Looks like a great day!! All the pictures were really fun. I miss not living near a lake or ocean; going to the beach has got to be my favorite thing to do!!

Yes Steve there is some summer left yet....enough for me to get some "good" pictures anyway!!
Yes Mighty Mom... we did all have a good time...except when someone put a ton of wood on the fire and the girls had to move in a hurry as the sparks were burning holes in their clothes, blankets, etc!
And Kitty it IS so nice to live by the lake! In fact we live between two lakes! They are both within about 5 minutes drive, or less! And oh soooo pretty! It's too bad you live away from the water, since you love it so much....

Wow!
Looks like you all had a fantastic time. Love the photos, how lovely the lake looks. Are you allowed power boats on it? I can't get over the sand, we only have sand at the beach, also cant get over that you are having an open fire right there on the sand, - How good is that. It is sad for you that Winter is approaching, however good for us because that means Summer is on the way. Yay! Enjoy the rest of your warm weather. Take Care Melinda

The scenery is beautiful. I agree Canada is a beautiful place. I'd love to go there one day.
