OH my goodness... I hate Ants...especially in the kitchen...
It is definitely time to clean the freezer when the ants have found it and have a convoy running back and forth from your freezer to their colony nonstop 24 hrs a day! We watched the movie Antz the other night, so I had a pang or two of guilt and sorrow as I squashed ants under my flip flops...but they were short lived pangs! The kids (and the biggest one whose name starts with R) like to put sweet drinks in glasses in the door of the freezer(which is on the bottom of the fridge). You can imagine that when said person closes the door it is not always the smoothest closure and the resultant spill makes a lovely mess of the freezer and the seal around the door....
Well we all know what happens when the nasty little ants get a whiff of this lovely sweetness!!! Yes...a mad swarming dash!! I'm just hoping they don't find the sticky honey bucket on the top shelf of the pantry cupboard!!! Well hope you all have a great weekend....as I'm shlupping out the freezer...and the honey bucket!

Oh I hear you. I haven't had them for quite some time but when we were traveling in the RV we quite often would pick them up in some campground. As you say they march that straight line by the hundreds!! Hope you conquered yours.
Susan
Well, don't send anymore down here. I have enough, thank you very much.
Despite the obvious things that we have tried - not leaving treats for them, spraying the foundation, ant baits - they still come. I suck them up with the handheld vacuum. My SnugBug thinks that is great fun and will stand with the vacuum in his "superman-attack" stance and wait for them so he can vacuum them up.
It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
uh oh! hope you get rid of them all soon . thinkin of ya today :)
I think we've conquered the ants!! We used Laters liquid ant killer. It's great stuff..you put drops next to their paths and they line up like cows at a feed lot! They take it back and feed the queen and larvae and they all die!! yippeeee! Besides that we cleaned up the sticky mess that they were coming in for...
Oh Ants. And I say that with a frown. I agree, they are the worst! Thankfully when we thought we might have termites, the bug people came and sprayed for bugs... it's so nice to not have to worry about those pesky things!
Hope you have a great week!
PS: Oh yes, you definitely heard my Southern accent on that little Daisy Dog video :oP Good ol' North Carolina!
I feel your pain here. Glad to read that you got rid of them.
We had them a few years back. Very annoying indeed.
Grrr... Pesty little creatures, we have them here to unfortunately. Glad to here that you have got rid of them. Lets hope they stay away.
Ohh no...ants are such a pain and hard to get rid of. I feel your pain. I had a friend that got them 5 times in the course of about 6 months, and she lived in a 2nd story apartment! Somehow she even had them in her sealed sugar and flour containers...ahhh!
I loved the pictures of the river birthday party, what a wonderful idea! I'm glad you've gotten to know some new people and have enjoyed befriending them. I wish we'd have a 70 degree day, wanna send it this way, lol. Have a great week!
So Christie does that mean it's super hot down there? I'm missing the heat.. it seems to last for such a short time!
I always get ants in my kitchen several times in year...so obnoxious!
I posted the kitchen quiz answers on my blog. :0)

Ants - YUCK!
Hope they go bye-bye for good (especialyl before we come!LOL!) I used that liquid ant killer when I lived in Calgary, I thought it was great too - killed all the little pests, but I did have to vaccum all th dead ants up! yuck
Well I haven't had to clean up any dead ones... just the ones that i squished...I guess the nest is outside...
HI Heather! Love your blog, thanks for checking mine out. I love blogging, and I took some ideas from yours for my own.
Hope you are well - i've bookmarked your site so I can keep tabs on you :-)
Hope you beat the ants... in my house this week it's been FRUIT FLIES!! Ugh
Terri
We have had ants here too. Aren't they a pain.
I saw a few here and there and had been telling Al that he better spray for ants.
Then one morning I went out to my kitchen with ants all over. I was so creeped out.
they had crawled up and into my cake pan. I had just baked that coffee cake the day before.
I ended up spraying inside the house Then I sprayed twice around the outside of the house.
