waaaaaa.... :(
I'm sad to say that we won't be getting Jackson. They've decided to keep him. She called to tell me that he was having problems walking. I guess one of his hips is really bad..to the point where he wasn't able to put any weight on that leg. He has hip dysplasia. Their vet wants to do surgery. So I guess it is probably for the better that they keep him. I'm a big suck when it comes to animals in pain and I'm sure it would have caused me great angst. :( Besides that the vet bills would be enormous! We're very sad that we're not to have him but I guess things happens for a reason.

Oh, how very sad for all you, as he looked a wonderful addition to your family.
Perhaps it is wise of Jackson's family to keep him and certainly for a vet to give early treatment.
Who knows what awaits in the future. Keep smiling and express your feelings through even more photo's with your new camera.
thanks Peter.

Heather, do you intend on keep looking for another dog?
I must admit I am still seriously thinking about one, however, until I have my own hospital situation out of the way, I think it wise I delay my search.
ps May I say your header photo of 'J' depicts beautifully - the tranquility alongside mother nature - and rather reflects of a Mark Twain novel.
I hope you will find time for even more photo's to share with us.
Enjoy your day.
Blessings to all.
Peter
nope not going to look for another dog. :(
Thanks for the compliments on my photo. I am working on it...hopefully in my bumblings I'll figure out how to take quality photos! I've read somewhere that you need to take about 40-60(?)photos to get one great one! wow! that's a ton of snapping! oh well...I'm working on it. :)
I hope you get things worked out with you soon. I'd recommend a Cavalier King Charles...from the research I've done on them though not personal experience, obviously. Altho one must be thoroughly checked out for health problems first as this breed has some pretty serious yet common problems. I suspect from too much interbreeding to make the breed. take care
Heather, you have no need of taking 40-60 photo's - as you are a natural, when it comes to photography...
Ideally I would luv either a GSD (longhaired) or a Shetland Sheepdog - both of which I have had in the past and therefore familiar with the breeds.
Where would we be - without the company of a dog, and especially when outdoors - healthy for owner and pet.
Blessings to all.
Peter what is a GSD??
yes I think dogs are very good for people in every way..unless of course they are animal haters....but even then--if the dog is around long enough even the animal hater's heart softens. =)
