***Winter in April***

Our front yard yesterday.

Our front yard today! :(

I am NOT impressed!!

Those poor little delicate buds! I like the light dusting of snow on the bud.

No drinks here today..sorry little guys!

The cedar hedging....blanketed in snow.

The Azalea tree....no pretty blazing orange blooms for awhile yet.

The poor magnolia tree...I was going to take a photo of it today in all it's glory...fully blooming...oops! should have done it yesterday.

Its gotta be 80 or above today - a little warm for this early - but we'll take it.

SNOW? How many months of the year do you get snow? I'm guessing this is pretty rare for you - since your flowers were already blooming! UGH!

yes Leigh Ann....it is rare! We've had it the other extreme too. The girls were out playing in the sprinkler on Amanda's bd one year(Apr3rd). It was about 30 (86) that year. Now we're at -2 (28) today! but it has taken a turn for the better I must say...talk about extremes! It's now a beautiful sunny day and up to about 6..around 35 for you. Not smokin' hot but better than freezing!

I guess I popped over a wee too early - yesterday!!!

Delightful was the first photot and the joy of spring.

Shock of the morning after - snow, and so much too. I can understand why your wee dog is not impressed...

However, the photo's alongside your captions are stunning - enhanced by the b/w.

As if the snow protects the bloom & bud for a wee while longer - and perhaps the sun will shine through (as it here in Scotland) and once again share with you the beauty of life.

Keep capturing the moments - well done.

It's so true of snow! You will never see anything more picturesque than a fresh dusting of snow on a garden. The way it clings to branches and leaves does look very magical. (In a Narnia sort of way) I will look at it all day long but don't expect me to drive in it! :o) (Thank you for visiting!)

daffy you are so right....but...I'd rather that dusting came in say January...or even November would be fine...but APRIL??? Oh well...it melted by the afternoon anyway so now I don't need to water the lawn! :D

i was ready to go out there and put a murderous end to that snow.
it killed my beloved magnolia tree.

Nature allows strength - even when enclosed within a layer of snow.

May your magnolia tree bring joy of bloom - very soon and with sunshine to radiate throughout.
