hmmm... society at large... wow!

I didn't realize the ultimate importance of being a Mom until after being one for awhile. Here's a quote that really hammers that importance home!

"The first and best school of politeness, as of character, is always the home, where woman is the teacher. The manners of society at large are but the reflexes of our collective homes, neither better nor worse."

J.L. Nichols

Wow!! that's so profound.... Let's not forget the importance of our 'job' of mothering!

Trust me, after my life over the past months I have thought long and hard about my role as a mother. I have worked and toiled for years to cultivate the hearts of my daughters. At this point it is time to give this last one back to the Lord and release her completely. Although I will continue to pray for her and continue to seek wisdom regarding her I have to let her go and believe I have done all I can do. The road these last 18 years have been long and hard. She is now grown and we must trust that we have trained her to the best of our ability. It is time for her to step out on her own....scary, yes, but the time has come. Keep praying for those gems of yours Heathers. The time passes so quickly!

This IS a profound thought and very inspiring. I can definitely see myself reflected in my daughters--both the good AND the bad, believe me!!! My sons are a tougher case... sometimes I see really good character in them, but the manners part... not so much yet. They are still young, so hopefully it will rub off eventually!!

That is very profound. I don't know if I can see myself reflected in my kids though. Most the time I can only recognize the bad habits they pick up from me. I'm told they are good kids though and I'm doing a good job so maybe others notice what I don't.

I'm not a mom yet, but I know this is so true of my mom and what she instilled in her girls. Wonderful quote:)

Hi Heather - Thanks for signing my Guest Book. Please tell me what city or providence in Canada and I'll try and go in and fix it. The site does not appear to be very "user friendly" because a lot of people have been having trouble with the location. Thanks :o)

Me AGAIN - It won't let me change any information but I can delete. If it's okey with you why don't I delete both of them and then you go back in and post a new one. Is that okey with you? Let me know.
